The project “Soundscape Fitia” tackles the concept of resistance, as a social game. It refers to the activity of a small group of people living in a small neighborhood. It has to do with “saites”, as we call the handmade construction with cardboard and gunpowder, that people lit at night holding them in their hands. They gradually approached one other in the streets of the neighborhood treating a complex of flame, smoke and above all deafening sound. It is said that “saites” were made in the old days to scare foreign invaders with a deafening sound diversion. Today, in times of crisis and intense unrest, I found in the essence of this action a defensive and corporate practice of self-organization which is unable to turn against somebody else as a target (it does not fight any-body) and its resistance practice consumes itself in a little noise, flame, smoke not directly (in terms of) authority but in terms of fears, oblivion anger, desires, feelings and dreams. I wanted to narrate an action which colonizes people who perform this out of the usual and rationalized space- time of big cities, something that probably only a game can achieve.
