SUN’ S COMMUNICATION
“Sun’ s communication” / Projection on external building wall, variable dimensions / Duration 3’ 55’’ loupe / 2017
In the distant past, people used to communicate by means of solar signals in cases of emergency. Despite lack of discourse, the message between the transmitter and the receiver had the potential to directly traverse space. Nowadays, in an era that speed and contemporary means of communication advance dramatically, substantial contact weakens respectively.
In “Sun’ s communication” the convention of communicating through solar signals is used as a reference to the primitive seeking an unmediated human contact. The idea is that a video projection of solar signals in a nocturnal scape, facing the viewer, is temporarily exhibited in various places of public viewing. It aspires to attract “glimpses” of attention, to become a small part of the passer’ s by daily routine, who as a receiver confronts the solar signals in the paradox of the night. It is a note in the regulating speed, at which the public external space moves, an urgent message for meaningful contact are redefinition of the terms of communication.
